Make sure the waiver and primary wording are really on your policy.
Contracts often ask for a waiver of subrogation and primary and noncontributory wording on several policies at once. Send the contract and your policies, and we check each requirement against the endorsements on each policy. Free, with a policy by policy answer.
What you get
- Every waiver and primary wording requirement in the contract, cited to its clause
- Each requirement checked policy by policy, including general liability, auto, workers’ comp and umbrella
- The endorsement form that provides it where one is on file, cited to the forms schedule
- Blanket wording checked against its conditions, such as a written contract signed before the loss
- The form needed where one is missing, such as a California workers’ comp waiver endorsement
- A drafted request for your broker and certificate wording that matches the policy

What is a waiver of subrogation?
It is an agreement that your insurer will not try to recover what it paid on a claim from the other party in the contract. Contracts ask for it so a loss does not turn into a dispute between the two businesses. It must be on the policy by endorsement to work.
What does primary and noncontributory mean?
It means your policy pays first for a covered claim involving the additional insured, and does not ask the other party’s own insurance to share the loss. Contracts ask for it to protect their own loss history. It also needs an endorsement on your policy.
Do I need a waiver on workers’ comp too?
Often, yes. Many contracts ask for a waiver on workers’ comp as well as liability and auto. Workers’ comp uses its own state endorsements, and some insurers charge for a waiver. We check whether your workers’ comp policy carries one that fits this contract.
Is the waiver check really free?
Yes. There is no fee and no obligation, and you keep your broker. We compare the contract with your policies and report what we find. If you later want SF Coverage to request endorsements or handle your insurance, that is a separate conversation.
Can a certificate show a waiver my policy does not have?
It should not. A certificate only summarizes the policy and cannot add coverage. If the box is checked without the endorsement behind it, the other party may find out after a loss. We check the endorsement first so the certificate stays accurate.
Is this legal advice?
No. The check compares the insurance terms in the contract with the wording of your policies and reports what it finds. It is general information. Questions about indemnity, waivers in the contract itself or negotiating terms belong with your lawyer.
