Know whether your policy gives the additional insured status the contract asks for.
Contracts ask for additional insured status in different ways, and a checked box on a certificate does not create it. Send the contract and your policies, and we match the request to the endorsement forms actually on your policy. Free, with every match checked by a person.
What you get
- The exact additional insured wording the contract requires, cited to its clause
- The additional insured endorsements on your policy, cited to the forms schedule
- Whether ongoing work, completed work or both are covered, such as CG 20 10 and CG 20 37
- Whether the endorsement is blanket or names each party, and whether this party qualifies
- Gaps marked plainly, with the form that would close each one
- A drafted request for your broker and a certificate description that matches the policy

What is an additional insured?
An additional insured is a person or business added to your policy by endorsement, so it can claim under your coverage for liability arising from your work. Contracts often require it for owners, general contractors and landlords. The endorsement decides what is covered, not the certificate.
What is the difference between CG 20 10 and CG 20 37?
They are standard ISO endorsement forms. CG 20 10 generally covers the additional insured for your ongoing operations. CG 20 37 generally covers completed operations, after the work is finished. Many construction contracts require both. Insurers use different editions and their own forms, so the wording on your policy is what we check.
What is a blanket additional insured endorsement?
A blanket endorsement adds anyone you agree in a written contract to treat as an additional insured, without naming each party. It saves time, but its conditions matter, such as whether the contract was signed before the loss. We check whether this contract meets those conditions.
Is the additional insured check really free?
Yes. There is no fee and no obligation, and you keep your broker. We compare the contract with your policy and report what we find. If you later want SF Coverage to request endorsements or handle your insurance, that is a separate conversation.
Can you add an additional insured to my policy?
Yes, by endorsement from your insurer. SF Coverage requests it the same business day, cites the contract clause that requires it and follows up every two business days until it is issued.
Is this legal advice?
No. The check compares the insurance terms in the contract with the wording of your policy and reports what it finds. It is general information. Questions about indemnity or negotiating the contract belong with your lawyer, and the insurer decides how its endorsements apply.
Check the endorsement, not just the certificate.
Send the contract with your endorsement schedules by 3 pm Pacific. The same business day you get a cited answer on ongoing and completed work, and the form that closes each gap.
