Per location aggregate (CG 25 04)

Endorsement CG 25 04 applies a separate general aggregate to each designated location, often requested by landlords and multi site businesses.

What it means

ISO endorsement CG 25 04, Designated Location(s) General Aggregate Limit, gives each designated premises its own general aggregate. Claims at one location do not reduce the aggregate available at another.

It suits businesses with several shops, warehouses or branches, and tenants whose landlord wants limits reserved for that building.

As with the per project version, products and completed operations claims usually remain under the separate products and completed operations aggregate. The endorsement does not change the each occurrence limit.

An example

Golden State Auto Glass leases service bays in three cities. One lease requires a per location aggregate. The policy adds CG 25 04, so a premises claim at another site cannot erode the aggregate available at that landlord’s building.

Per location aggregate (CG 25 04), answered

Is a per location aggregate the same as a per project aggregate?

They work the same way but apply to different things. A per location aggregate attaches to fixed premises such as stores or warehouses. A per project aggregate attaches to construction jobs. Some contractors need both, and many policies can carry both endorsements when contracts or leases require them.

Do landlords usually ask for a per location aggregate?

Some do, especially in retail centers and multi tenant buildings. The goal is to make sure the full aggregate is available for claims at their property. Whether a lease requires it depends on its insurance section, so read the lease before signing and confirm with the insurer that the endorsement is available.
