Check your workers’ comp audit before you pay it.
Audit bills are often built on incomplete records. Send the audit and your payroll records, and we reconcile every class, every dollar of payroll and every subcontractor against your own books. Free, reviewed by a person and back within three business days.
What you get
- Audited payroll reconciled to your payroll records, class by class
- Class codes checked against the work your people actually do
- Subcontractors matched to certificates on file, so insured subs are not charged as your payroll
- Overtime premium pay and officer payroll checked against your state’s rules
- Every difference listed with its evidence and the rule behind it
- A dispute file drafted for you to send, with the deadline on your record
How it works
- 01
Send the audit
Upload the audit worksheet or bill with your policy and payroll records. We record your dispute deadline first.
- 02
Payroll is reconciled
Software lines up the auditor’s figures with your payroll, tax filings and subcontractor records.
- 03
A person reviews
A qualified reviewer checks classification questions and every difference before release.
- 04
You get a cited report
Each difference, the evidence and a drafted dispute file you can send to your insurer.
What to send
- The audit worksheet, audit summary or audit bill
- Your workers’ comp policy and declarations page
- Payroll reports by employee for the policy period
- Quarterly payroll tax filings for the same period
- A list of subcontractors with amounts paid and their certificates of insurance
- A short description of what each role does
What you receive and when
Our standard is a cited report within three business days of receiving complete records. Dispute deadlines can be short, so send the audit as soon as it arrives. If your deadline is within ten days, tell us and we will review it first.

Is the audit review really free?
Yes. There is no fee, no share of any refund and no obligation. Recovery firms commonly charge a share of what they recover. We review the audit for free because accurate payroll records also make your next renewal cleaner.
When should I send my audit?
As soon as it arrives, and before you pay. Many states and insurers set short windows to dispute an audit. Sending it early leaves time to gather records and respond within the deadline.
Can you dispute the audit for me?
We prepare the dispute file with every difference, its evidence and the rule behind it. You send it to your insurer, or ask your broker to. Disputes and adjustments are decided by the insurer and, where applicable, your state’s rating bureau.
What do audit reviews usually find?
Common issues include payroll in a higher rated class than the work supports, insured subcontractors charged as payroll, overtime premium counted in full and payroll from outside the policy period. Not every audit has an error, and we tell you when it looks right.
Do I need to switch brokers?
No. The review works with any insurer and any broker. Many businesses share the report with the broker they already have.
Can you help before next year’s audit?
Yes. The free workspace keeps a year-round audit file with payroll by class and subcontractor certificates tied to payments. Send it for a pre-audit check 60 days before the policy ends.
